I’m Marina Johnson.  I have many years experience in the marine industry working with a wide range of well-known companies and yachting organisations.  I love nothing better than to be writing content and creating projects that can help a business or yachting organisation to achieve greater exposure.

 I was for a long time director of successful leisure and commercial marine PR and marketing company ClearLine Communications and I still keep my hand in there from time to time. However as the commercial maritime (shipping) side of the business strengthened thanks to my co-director, who is also my brother, we decided to separate the business.  That’s why I went on to set up Wavelength Narratives to offer a focused service to the yachting and leisure boating sector.   

 I hold a Chartered Institute of Public Relations Post Graduate Diploma, I’m a member of the Yachting Journalists’ Association, and I am a qualified RYA Yachtmaster. I have sailed and raced yachts and dinghies of all sizes throughout my life.

I’ve worked with major yacht builders, internationally renowned yacht clubs, hardware, electronics and equipment manufacturers. I’ve implemented PR strategies through worldwide distributor networks, promoted clients to the visiting press at shows, created management plans and controlled media output for major international regattas. I’ve interviewed long distance sailors and blogged their first-hand reports of their adventures at sea, or simply sat down with the client to explore what their business has been up to, helping them to identify news, blog and social media-worthy stories.

I can set out a PR plan for your business, tailor it to your budget, and implement it on an on-going basis.  I can integrate into your marketing or media team as a freelancer, whether on an ongoing regular basis or for a one-off event. I’m UK based but support clients globally. 

I’m supported by a tried and tested team of designers, printers, event managers, IT specialists and others who provide additional project resources where necessary.
